Carbon Copy is a fictional dating website exploring relationships between humans and machine-generated human content. It asks how technology might be used to fulfil emotional needs.

The project used data from a social app with GPT-2 to generate artificial profiles, and DALL·E 2 to create profile images. These profiles form a speculative setting for considering attraction, intimacy, and artificial identities.

As generative systems enter increasingly personal parts of everyday life, Carbon Copy asks how people might respond to potential partners created by machines.
